Oneworld Global Explorer

Another round-the-world fare, this time offered in conjunction with selected airlines outside oneworld - Aer Lingus, Air Pacific, Alaska Airlines, Gulf Air, S7 Airlines and Kingfisher (for its domestic Indian flights only). Qantas code share flights operated by Air Tahiti Nui, Jetstar, South African Airways and Vietnam Airlines can also be used - increasing the number of destinations available, particularly in the South West Pacific. Unlike oneworld Explorer, fares are calculated on the miles flown. Four options are available - for flying up to 26,000 miles, up to 29,000 miles or up to 39,000 miles in Economy class, or up to 34,000 miles for travel in any class.

Rules:
Routes
Your round-the-world itinerary could include a South Pacific island, some of the great cities of Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia.

How Global Explorer works
Your itinerary will be round-the-world. You can choose from four tiers that determine your fare, based on total distance flown:

Tier 1: Up to 26,000 miles (Available in Economy Class only)
Tier 2: Up to 29,000 miles (Available in Economy Class only)
Tier 3: Up to 34,000 miles (Fares offered in Economy, Business or First Class)
Tier 4: Up to 39,000 miles (Available in Economy Class only)

Routings
Flights must be via both the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans (travelling around the world in an eastbound or westbound direction). You may only cross each ocean once.
Your flights from one continent to another must be in a continuous eastward or westward direction. Once within a continent you are free to backtrack or roam locally at will provided you do not return to the point where your journey originated.
You may choose to travel by surface transport instead of flying, under the following conditions:
1. Within the country of origin
2. Between the USA and Canada
3. Between Hong Kong and another point in the People's Republic of China
4. Within Africa
5. Between Malaysia and Singapore
If you choose to travel by surface transport between two airports, the most direct flown distance between the origin and destination point of the surface sector will be counted towards your total flown mileage.

You may use the following oneworld airlines: American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, JAL Japan Airlines, LAN, Malév Hungarian Airlines, Mexicana, Qantas, Royal Jordanian Airlines and any of their oneworld affiliates as well as Aer Lingus, Air Pacific, Alaska Airlines and its affiliate Horizon Air, Gulf Air, S7 Airlines and Kingfisher and its affiliate Kingfisher Red (for its domestic Indian flights only).
Travel on a service marketed under the airline code of one of the above airlines (known as a codeshare), and operated by another of the above airlines is permitted. Also permitted are Qantas codeshare services operated by Air Tahiti Nui (TN), Vietnam Airlines (VN), South African Airways (SA) and Jetstar* (JQ) - the Qantas flight number must appear on the reservation and ticket. *QF domestic Australia services operated by Jetstar (JQ) are not permitted for point of sale Australia.
An unlimited number of online direct transfers (a direct connection) is permitted within the Tier mileage allowed by your fare.
You may fly up to 16 flight segments on your trip. Travel between two airports by surface transportation will count as one flight segment.

Minimum and maximum stay
You must stay away from your point of origin for at least 10 days. You may take up to 12 months to complete your trip.

Reservations
You must book your first flight and have your ticket issued at least 7 days before your first flight. Exception: for travel originating in South West Pacific the 7 day advance reservation requirement does not apply.
You may leave subsequent flights open-dated, and reserve them as you go along.
All reservations and ticketing can be handled by American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, JAL Japan Airlines, LAN, Malév Hungarian Airlines, Mexicana, Qantas, Royal Jordanian Airlines or any of their oneworld affiliates as well as Aer Lingus, Air Pacific, Alaska Airlines with its affiliate Horizon Air, Gulf Air, S7 Airlines and Kingfisher (for its domestic Indian flights only).
Global Explorer offers flexibility should you need to alter your travel arrangements. A charge may be payable for this service, and if your ticket needs to be reissued this may take up to 24 hours, so when making changes to your itinerary, please plan accordingly.

FARES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.
